The second night of the Essential Repertoire Festival at ISSUE Project Room featuring performances by Meredith Monk/M6, Jon Gibson and Phill Niblock.
For three intimate evenings, Philip Glass comes to ISSUE Project Room-- a rare occasion featuring Glass in duo performances with Laurie Anderson, Jon Gibson, and Stephin Merritt of the Magnetic Fields, as well former ISSUE Artists-in Residence Tristan Perich, Nate Wooley, and Ryan Sawyer with Ben Vida.
The second night of this three day festival includes solo and duo performances by Philip Glass and Jon Gibson, and a special presentation of Tristan Perich's "Momentary Expanse" and "What's thought of as a boundless, continuous, expanse..."
Darmstadt: Essential Repertoire closes with the seventh annual performance of Terry Riley's minimalist classic, and instigator of a musical movement, "In C." The piece will be performed in true Darmstadt fashion, amplified and backed by former Swans drummer and La Monte Young collaborator Jonathan Kane.
