The evening also features a duo presentation by experimental musicians Marcia Bassett & Bob Bellerue, working in improvised processes.

Japanese-American artist, writer, theorist, and composer Yasunao Tone presents new work embracing artificial intelligence (AI). Tone has collaborated with Prof Tony Myatt, University of Surrey UK, and a team of researchers including Mark Fell and Dr. Paul Modler, with the support of ISSUE Project Room.

Yasunao Tone’s expansive practice eschews standard notions of media and embraces contradiction. His most recent sets harsh, scrupulous digital noise, are generated by his own modifications to the MP3 encoding system. Tone performs solo, joined by his recent collaborators Talibam!, a duo of Matt Mottel and Kevin Shea.
