Submission Policy
ISSUE Project Room strives to present groundbreaking performances through collaborations with a diverse range of artists, curators, filmmakers and musicians.
If you are interested in performing at ISSUE, please send two copies of your work on CD or DVD with a short proposal and Curriculum Vitae to:

Volunteer/ Intern
Volunteer for single events or intern regular hours each week. Volunteers and interns receive free admission to events, depending on ticket availability. Internships are unpaid.

General Operations
General Operations Interns will learn about the ins and outs of live productions by working with ISSUE staff and wide variety of performers and artists. Interns will aid in the daily operations aiding the staff to organize and staff evening events. 5-10 hours with one performance per week.
Marketing & Outreach
Assist Marketing & Outreach director with through the ISSUE Project Room website and social media networks. Posting events on facebook, and other online event listing sites as well as managing the content on the site, including adding new photos, announcements, and media. Produce online content including interviews with artists and members, post ISSUE’s video and audio media archive online, create webcasts of live events. Must be comfortable with HTML. 20-25 hours per week.
Audio/Video Archiving
Recording, editing, and posting the audio and video of ISSUE Project Room’s evening performances online and in digital format. Compile ISSUE’s media from the past, and organize it for searchability, placing links to artist’s sites, and related organizations. Must be organized and meticulous. Interns will be expected to master recordings and set up id tags, edit video and aid in the development of digital distribution. Archiving interns are expected to help out with the general evening operations of ISSUE. 10-15 hours, with one evening performance per week.
Development
Assist Development Director to research proposals that match our programming and fundraising initiatives. Contact foundation programming officers. Draft proposals. Work with staff to insure grants timelines are met. Assist ISSUE to building its membership program. Draft renewal and donation acknowledgement letters. Ensure that donors receive their benefits. Communicate with members regularly. 10-15 hours per week.
Space Rentals

Originally built in 1926 as the headquarters for the Benevolent & Protective Order of the Elks, ISSUE Project Room features a limestone and terra cotta facade, with Renaissance-revival style features including balustrades, egg-and-dart ornamentation, Corinthian columns, and a 2,563 sq ft. theater space with 40-foot vaulted ceilings.
This late McKim, Mead and White building is thought to be the only public jewel box theater in NYC, making it a unique and striking location for your wedding, reception, party, concert, video or photo shoot.
Located in Brooklyn Heights, ISSUE Project Room is easily accessible by the 2, 3, 4, 5, A, C, F, G, N, and R trains.
