ISSUE has a significant archive of performance documentation that represents both an important link to the past, and a future resource for artists and audiences. ISSUE’s public media archive is a consistently updated and freely accessible collection of video and audio documentation from recent and past ISSUE performances. Currently, ISSUE is in the process of digitizing historical documentation from its former homes at The Old American Can Factory and silo space in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Regular updates feature newly published materials within ISSUE’s constantly expanding performance history.

ANNEA LOCKWOOD & RUTH ANDERSON: “TÊTE-À-TÊTE” LP RELEASE WITH ERGOT RECORDS

Wednesday, April 12th at 8pm, join ISSUE and Ergot Records for a listening event in celebration of the release of Tête-à-tête, a new LP of tape pieces by composers Annea Lockwood & the late Ruth Anderson, released by Ergot Records. The event will feature drinks, an introduction from Annea Lockwood, an audio diffusion of the record, and a DJ set from Ergot Records’ Adrian Rew, who will be playing LPs from Annea and Ruth’s collection.

2023 Suzanne Fiol Curatorial Fellow evil dentist (Alice Gerlach and David Farrow) present “stuck at the office,” a durational office space installation featuring performances by Kate Mohanty and FRANK/ie CONSENT. This is their first program in Corporate Retreat, a curated series of performances appropriating the banality of office space to reimagine the relationship between artistic practice and community building.

BINT: SOLVE ET COAGULA → عيب, STAGE I: تسويد (THE BLACKENING)

Interdisciplinary artist and musician BINT presents their first program as an ISSUE Artist-In-Residence at MITU580. BINT has been collecting anonymous experiences of shame from folks of the MENASA (Middle Eastern/North African/South Asian) diaspora. These communally-individual experiences will be the focus of her 2023 residency she is naming "عيب:Solve et Coagula.”

ISSUE is pleased to present a solo performance from master drummer and composer Andrew Cyrille. In the world of jazz—be it free, mainstream or other more personal styles—Cyrille is legendary for drawing vivid sonic pictures and making incendiary rhythms with his drum set.

Silvia Tarozzi at Fridman Gallery's New Ear Festival 2023

Following her performance of works in collaboration with Pascale Criton at Brooklyn Public Library, ISSUE is pleased to co-present Silvia Tarozzi as a part of Fridman Gallery's New Ear Festival 2023 on Friday, February 24th at 8pm. Tarozzi will perform Coralli, a solo electroacoustic project.
