ISSUE presents the NY premiere of Always Already a new commissioned work by Ben Vida performed by renowned quartet Yarn/Wire, vocalist Nina Dante, and Vida himself. The evening also features the ISSUE debut of composer Aaron David Ross (ADR), presenting new compositions from his unreleased Filter Failure.

Pioneering experimental composer Morton Subotnick premieres a new collaboration with Berlin-based video artist, Lillevan. The duo of composer and turntable artist Marina Rosenfeld and analog synth innovator Ben Vida reprise their improvisational collaboration first presented during Vida’s 2013 ISSUE residency.

“Damaged Particulates (undersong edition)” is a new exploration of sub bass created by one the most prolific sound artists and electronic musicians in New York today, Ben Vida. Low frequencies will be transmitted directly to your body through seat-backs equipped with SubPac, a high-fidelity tactile audio system.

An evening of improvised duets featuring Marina Rosenfeld closes electronic composer Ben Vida’s 2013 residency. A leading voice in the increasing hybridization between the domains of visual art and music, Rosenfeld performs on turntables. Vida plays a digital/analog hybrid synth.

Ben Vida performs the East Coast Premiere of Damages Particulates, an eleven movement solo composition for fixed and live electronics presented in four channel expanded stereo. The program also includes his recent work "Extraction", accompanied by a micro-lecture on the theme of "Extraction" by curator Anthony Elms.

Resident Advisor teams up with ISSUE and Goethe-Institut to present an evening with 2013 ISSUE Artist-In-Residence Ben Vida, London-based sound artist Helm, and composer / Root Strata label founder Jefre Cantu-Ledesma in a performance with his longtime collaborator, filmmaker Paul Clipson.
