ISSUE is thrilled to open its 2021 Fall season and welcome audiences for the first in-person program after nearly eighteen months. Returning to the First Unitarian Congregational Society in Brooklyn Heights, ISSUE presents an expansive gathering of alumni from cross the organization’s history.

ISSUE Project Room presents performances by Newton Artmstrong, Robin Hayward, plus a collaboration between Anthea Caddy and David Watson.

ISSUE Project Room and WFMU present a month of collaborative concerts. This evening featuring DJ Kurt Gottschalk, Brown Wing Overdrive and Sean Meehan / David Watson Duo.

David Watson performs on the Great Highland Bagpipe and Scottish smallpipes in collaboration with renowned percussionist Tony Buck. Multidisciplinary artist Laura Ortman also presents new work for violin, incorporating over-rosining and heavy use of amplification in her scored and improvised works.

In eight performances, choreographer Moriah Evans premieres "Social Dance 1-8: index", commissioned as part of ISSUE's Artist-In-Residence program. Created especially for ISSUE's theater, the work investigates a system of patterns that propel bodies through space and affective states. All shows SOLD OUT!

In this evening of live electronics and instrumentalists, Al Margolis premieres a new quartet of bassoonist Leslie Ross, trombonist Monique Buzzarté, live video by Katherine Liberovskaya, and Margolis on laptop. Phill Niblock presents his now-classic "seth-work", a duo for laptop and guitar featuring David Watson.

Though the history and relationships amongst these three players goes back a long time and are quite intertwined, this performance is the first outing for this exact combination. Expect playful and unexpected strategies and a finely wrought exploration of sonic space.
