ISSUE opens its 2022 Fall season at First Unitarian Congregational Society in Brooklyn Heights with an in-person performance from the new improvising group of Fred Moten (voice) Brandon López (double bass), and Gerald Cleaver (drums), new work from composer/performer and media artist Pamela Z, plus SYANIDE.

This Summer, 2020, ISSUE and the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council present The Steve Circuit, an episodic series of videos and digital artwork dedicated to the late beloved poet Steve Dalachinsky developed by his wife, painter and poet Yuko Otomo, and interdisciplinary artist Matt Mottel.

Shawn Onsgard presents fresh selections from his avant jazz compositions arranged for solo piano and Hammond organ. Joined by Maguire, Cleaver, and Halvorson; an unbalanced trio of drums, electric guitar, and exposed Rhodes integrates extended sections of exact notation with improvisation.

Improviser, composer, and multi-instrumentalist Brandon Lopez opens his 2018 ISSUE residency with the premiere of Fairer Than Tongue, a solo piece for improviser in three movements. The evening also features a duo performance between Lopez and celebrated Detroit-born jazz drummer Gerald Cleaver.

For the 2004 HOWL Festival, ISSUE Project Room will be presenting an interpretation of seminal British avant-garde composer Cornelius Cardew’s 1969 experimental music piece The Great Learning from Paragraph Two.
