Despite their relentless failure, four aspiring screenwriters in a small town manage to sabotage their one shot at success and discover that failure can be its own reward. The film champions the underdog & celebrates the spirit of creativity, language, comradery & turns the conventional ideas of success upside down.
Written and directed by Janine Kijner and starring Robert Blanche, Robert Keli, Neil Kopplin, Simon Mainwaring and Christina McGrath with a soundtrack featuring legendary musicians Oscar Brown Jr. and The Legendary Marvin Pontiac (aka John Lurie), as well as original composition by Uwe Schenk and The Count Baischey Orchestra. The film is 90 minutes in length and was shot on location in Oregon and Washington.
Ms. Kijner has received several awards for writing. She co-wrote "Duke's House, a film that premiered at The Tribeca Film Festival 2003 and worked on Postcard from Peje, a documentary set in post-war Kosovo that premiered at The Sundance Film Festival 2001. Her script, my father's wedding, was a Quarter-Finalist in the Nicholl Screenwriting Fellowship Composition 2001 and in The Austin Film Festival Screenwriting Competition 2001.
