Join ISSUE for an intimate benefit performance with The Necks on Wednesday, February 22nd over cocktails, and hors d'oeuvres from Rucola. Following the performance, the group appears in a Q&A conversation moderated by former ISSUE Artist-In-Residence and acclaimed experimental trumpeter Nate Wooley. Celebrating The Necks 30th anniversary, the evening supports rare appearances by international artists at ISSUE during 2017. A limited quantity of reserved seating tickets are now on sale through Friday, February 17th.
The evening precedes three special performances celebrating the group's stunning experimental tenure. A cult phenomenon of cathartic, sonic possibility -- The Necks have been praised by the LA Times as “among the world’s greatest forces in music,” developing their distinct and enthralling sound over three decades.

The Necks’ hypnotic improvisations unfurl through Chris Abrahams’ piano drones, Tony Buck’s ripples of percussion, Lloyd Swanton’s visceral grooves -- together forming their signature “waves of empyrean feedback.” One of the great cult bands of Australia, Chris Abrahams (piano), Tony Buck (drums), and Lloyd Swanton (bass) conjure a chemistry together that defies description in orthodox terms. Featuring lengthy pieces which slowly unravel in the most mesmerizing fashion, frequently underpinned by an insistent deep groove, the eighteen albums by The Necks stand up to re-listening time and time again. The deceptive simplicity of their music throws forth new charms on each hearing.
