A discussion of the annual Burning Man festival in Black Rock Desert of Nevada as a visionary model for new forms of self-organizing communities, new ways of approaching art, as well as activism. Featured speakers will be Daniel Pinchbeck (author of Breaking Open the Head, he has written on Burning Man for ArtForum, Arthur, and Art in Review), Leo Villareal (artist with Sandra Gering Gallery, designer of the Disorient camp, his work is shown at museums around the world), and Jonny America (writer and activist with Green Dragon). Open discussion to follow brief presentations.

Daniel Pinchbeck is the author of Breaking Open the Head: A Psychedelic Journey into the Heart of Contemporary Shamanism (www.breakingopenthehead.com). He is currently completing a second book, 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl, on indigenous prophecies and The Apocalypse, theorizing an imminent transformation of human consciousness.
