Eyvind Kang and Jessika Kenney have created a unique and inclusive body of work involving the poetic setting of sacred/historical texts, within a framework of syncretic tunings and sounds. They will share a selection of these pieces and other gems!

Composer/violinist Eyvind Kang works with many communities of musicians, particularly in New York, Seattle, Reykjavik, Bologna, Vienna, and the Bay Area. He has released CDs on Tzadik, Ipecac and Abduction to wide acclaim, including "Virginal Coordinates" (2004). Eyvind has also been known to play with such musical luminaries as Bill Frisell, Amir Koushkani, Kala Ramnath, and Trey Spruance.

Jessica Kenney is a vocalist involved in connection to the musical past through a wide range of methods. For the last ten years Jessika has collaborated on new vocal music with composer Jarrad Powell, some of which will be released on Present Sounds in November. She has performed as a soloist with Gamelan Pacifica, Orquestra Teatre Communale di Bologna, the Degenerate Art Orchestra, the Black Cat Orchestra, noted doom metal group ASVA, and many others.
