The Silo

Steven Berson, cellist for the cross genre string quartet Invert, will perform solo with 5-string electric contra-cello, bouzouki (8 string Greek mandolin), djimbe and voice. Steve will present both soundscapes created by layering and manipulating his instrument's sounds live with a digital looping system, and deconstructions/reconstructions of songs that he wished he had written (including pieces by Tricky, Van Morrison, Richie Havens and Willie Dixon).

Joining Berson is vibraphonist / percussionist Sean McCaul, who has recorded with Yo-Yo Ma, Philip Glass, and Reeves Gabrel among many others, performing original compositions and improvisations that freely cross genres from jazz to rock to ambient to avant-garde and all points in between.

Steve and Sean will perform in duos together and with cameos by a number of special guests; including prepared guitarist Ben Miller (known for his work with Destroy All Monsters, Dirty Old Man River, M3, Third Border, etc.)
