Fri, November 21, 2014 - 8:00pm

Composer Madalyn Merkey creates a new site-specific work for ISSUE's theater, combining live synthetic sound and acoustic violin to create inner-ear occurrences. Battle Trance perform their album-length work Palace of Wind, a stunning composition for four tenor saxophonists. ISSUE Member party precedes the show at 7pm.

ISSUE's 22 Boerum Place theater by Seth Tisue

ISSUE's long-awaited renovation project will begin in February 2015, programming continues around the city through partnerships with a vital network of peers. For our Year-End Campaign, the Robert D. Bielecki Foundation has generously pledged a $15,000 matching grant.

We've assembled some of the year's highlights in video, including a rare appearance by legendary Ethiopian pop singer Mahmoud Ahmed to an audience of over 800, "maximalist" icon Charlemagne Palestine's first-ever organ concert in New York, new commissions by Pat Spadine's Ashcan Orchestra and Artist-In-Residence devynn emory, and excerpts from international festivals Tectonics, Ultima, and Unsound.
