MATA presents a gloriously loud and eclectic program featuring Dither, a versatile electric guitar quartet and a rising force in New York. Curated by guitarists James Moore and Taylor Levine, MATA will showcase six exciting new works by young composers.

An evening of contemporary music for multiple electric guitars. Conceived and curated by composer Dan Joseph, the program explores the growing repertoire of multiple electric guitar compositions with works by a diverse group of composers spanning three generations.

2011 Artist-in-Residence James Ilgenfritz juxtaposes his work as a composer and as an improviser, splitting the evening between a large-scale improvisational work for a quartet, and premieres of two new chamber works. With Dither, Josh Sinton, Jeremiah Cymerman, and Brian Chase.

Sara Wintz is a writer, editor and lead singer of the pretty panicks press. DITHER, a New York based electric guitar quartet, is dedicated to an eclectic mix of experimental repertoire which spans composed music, improvisation, and electronic manipulation.
