ISSUE and The Drawing Center present works by artists William Engelen and Aki Onda. Celebrated percussion ensemble Talujon perform Engelen’s recent work "Falten", a hybrid of score and sculpture. Percussionist Eli Keszler and the Ashcan Orchestra’s Pat Spadine perform Aki Onda’s "Damaged".
ISSUE Radio: Eli Keszler & Ashley Paul
Recorded live in June 2013, percussionist Eli Keszler and saxophonist Ashley Paul perform a duo as part of the PAN_ACT festival. Keszler's bowed crotales and cymbals resonate within Paul's altissimo sustains and drastic pitch bends. The split tone combinations from these instruments is surprising and overwhelming, creating continuously shifting, multi-layered harmonics and intense inner ear sound.

"Archway" is a massive outdoor installation by Eli Keszler, presented as part of Make Music New York. Tuned and extended piano wires up to 380 feet long will be stretched around a massive space, overlapping to form sculptural shapes and a mechanically driven, intense harmonic resonance.

The composer-percussionist Eli Keszler transforms Eyebeamʼs Project Space with L-Carrier, a large-scale,mechanical stringed instrument. A remote website displaying the pieceʼs evolving visual data score supplements this audio environment. June 7th, the piece accompanies a live ensemble performance.
