ISSUE is pleased to present a rare performance from Rocket Science, a collaborative improvising ensemble formed in 2012. Initially composed of Evan Parker, Peter Evans, Sam Pluta, and Craig Taborn, the group has expanded on occasion to include Ikue Mori on live electronics. Rocket Science released a critically acclaimed eponymous album on More is More Records in 2013 and has appeared at festivals such as Big Ears, Moers, and Guelph.

The fourth installment of Yarn/Wire/Currents celebrates the ensemble's 10th anniversary season and their recent release on ISSUE’s Distributed Objects imprint. The concert program features world premieres by David Bird, Sam Pluta, and electronics visionary Mark Fell; doors open with DJ & reception at 7pm.
For their first performance at ISSUE the Peter Evans Quintet debuts five new compositions by Evans including pieces dedicated to biologist Lynn Margulis and musician/composer Alice Coltrane, in addition to improvisatory platforms for the unique playing styles of the band members.
