

MATA presents its 27th annual MATA Festival, this year in partnership with ISSUE Project Room at the limited capacity 22 Boerum Pl. theater. Featuring four concerts across four nights, this year’s festival explores the concept of INTERGALACTIC INFINITY: Music Between Spaces.
ISSUE Project Room hosts a free limited engagement for up to 10 ISSUE Members with RSVP with Thomas Ankersmit on his artistic practice with the Serge Modular analog synthesizer, his main instrument since 2006.
ISSUE Project Room is honored to present a special recording session by composer, poet, and 2021 Artist-In-Residence JJJJJerome Ellis, joined by longtime collaborator S T A R R busby. This intimate event gives unique access to ISSUE Members and launches the 2025 summer membership campaign.

ISSUE presents an evening of pioneering work from choreographer and filmmaker Yvonne Rainer and composer David Behrman, highlighting the artists’ work interpreted and presented by a new generation of artists.
ISSUE and Abrons Arts Center are pleased to present Seasons in a Quasar, a new collaborative performance by Brooklyn-based vocalist & producer Embaci and South African via NYC artist Dasychira. Seasons in a Quasar is a dynamic show with references ranging from classic children's stories to Trinidadian folklore.
ISSUE is pleased to stream a cassette recording from Lary 7, the first project in the Isolated Field Recording Series. Lary has given ISSUE a cassette tape containing a room recording of his “droney tone” piece, an unrepeatable sound and light “rewind” piece.
The Anagram Ensemble presents a program of original works and collaborations with composers Hunter Hunt-Hendrix and Viola Yip. This program highlights the diverse abilities of all five participants, who all contribute to this concert as both composers and performers.
ISSUE presents electronic music pioneer Laurie Spiegel’s piece A Harmonic Algorithm 2011 in collaboration with Seth Cluett. First created through a computer algorithm coded by Spiegel, the piece is spatialized by Cluett. The evening also features Italian composer Caterina Barbieri for the first time at ISSUE.
ISSUE is pleased to present an evening of recent electroacoustic works from visionary composer, trombonist, and scholar George Lewis. At ISSUE, Lewis presents a “portrait concert” of four recent works performed by musicians Laura Cocks, Seth Parker Woods, Dana Jessen, Conrad Harris & Pauline Kim.
Sound artist Jacob Kirkegaard performs work from his Opus Mors series, displaying near-field sound recordings of a full autopsy. The evening also features musician Lyra Pramuk, performing the North American debut of material from her album Fountain. Entrance is free for ISSUE Members.
