In 2026, ISSUE Project Room celebrates the 20th anniversary of its Artists-in-Residence program. We’re proud to announce the 2026 Artists-in-Residence Webb Crawford, Eden Girma, and rocío sánchez, and invite audiences to join us in celebrating the next generation of boundary-pushing artists.
ISSUE Project Room is pleased to announce the selection of Isabella Thorpe-Woods as 2026 Suzanne Fiol Curatorial Fellow. Thorpe-Woods will present a curated series of events that explore the idea of letters as a curatorial prompt, and the ways they both fail and succeed in transmitting meaning or reaching their desired destination.
Keiji Haino, legend of the Japanese underground, returns to Brooklyn for two performances September 26th and 27th, following up his sold out series at ISSUE in 2013. He takes the stage in a special duo with Tony Conrad as well as performing solo. Cellist Okkyung Lee and rock outfits xNOBBQx and X Wave perform as well.
Minor Musics Japan comes to four American cities in September featuring venerated artists of Japan’s musical underground: Ché-SHIZU, Maher Shalal Hash Baz and à qui avec Gabriel. Organized by ISSUE Project Room in collaboration with Wild Beast at CALARTS, Marfa Live Arts, and the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit.

A two-night benefit series for ISSUE honors legendary artist Kim Gordon. One of the most legendary guitarists to come out of Japan, Keiji Haino is well known for his harsh blues-inspired guitar and torrential walls of sound with his band Fushitsusha.
