Bang On a Can: 2026 Long Play
ISSUE Project Room is proud to participate in Bang on a Can’s 2026 Long Play festival, with rare presentations and festival debuts from past ISSUE Artists-In-Residence, taking place at the 22 Boerum Pl. theater.
ISSUE presents electronic music pioneer Laurie Spiegel’s piece A Harmonic Algorithm 2011 in collaboration with Seth Cluett. First created through a computer algorithm coded by Spiegel, the piece is spatialized by Cluett. The evening also features Italian composer Caterina Barbieri for the first time at ISSUE.
Together with very special guest Wolter Wierbos from Holland, Gerry Hemingway and Alex Waterman present a set of trio music. Coming out of work in the larger Quintet setting, tonight’s music will be more conversational and languid without holding back the virtuosic energy of these three musicians.
Ashley Paul/ Eli Keszler combine sustained resonances with constantly shifting jabs and attacks. Keszler’s bowed metal and driving percussion, and Paul’s expressive reeds and floating vocals, creating deliriously eye opening moments. The duo will be joined by some very special guests.
ISSUE Project Room presents a solo performance by Ashley Paul and a collaborative performance between Eli Keszler and Loren Connors.
The third year of Floating Points Festival (formerly Points in a Circle) explores the versatility of ISSUE Project Room’s innovative house speaker system, designed by Stephan Moore.

The inaugural US iteration of Iceland’s acclaimed Tectonics festival comes to NYC in four events at ISSUE, presenting a rich program of new composition, improvisation and unique cross-genre collaborations exploring iconic voices in experimental composition.
Alvin Lucier’s "Criss Cross" opens Tectonics, performed by two pillars of experimental rock: Stephen O’Malley and Oren Ambarchi. The guitarists and ensemble play Iancu Dumitrescu and premiere a piece by Eyvind Kang. Crys Cole and Jessika Kenney play solo sets, Kenney and Kang play Giacinto Scelsi.
The String Orchestra of Brooklyn performs the World Premiere of four new works by young composers at the forefront of composition and improvisation: Eli Keszler, Catherine Lamb, Zach Layton, and Doron Sadja. Now in its third edition, this year's "String Theories" is presented in collaboration with Roulette.
