Dear Friends,
Thank you so much for your invaluable support in bringing the most innovative music and art of our time to Downtown Brooklyn.
ISSUE currently faces a serious challenge— damage to the ceiling of our historic theater has forced us to relocate all of our programming to alternate venues for the foreseeable future. Despite this hurdle, ISSUE moved forward with nearly all of our Fall programs, even in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. However, by seamlessly continuing with our presentation of these extraordinary artists, we are incurring significant unplanned expenses due to additional production and rental costs.
As we prepare to continue programming outside of our home in 2013, we are asking for your help by becoming a Member now with a tax-deductible donation of $50, $100, $250 or more towards our critical year-end campaign to raise $25,000. Reaching this goal is essential for our continued presentation of groundbreaking artists in NYC as we celebrate our tenth anniversary of cutting-edge programming.
2012 has been a landmark year for ISSUE Project Room. Since relocating to Downtown Brooklyn in January 2012, ISSUE:
-Commissioned more than 20 new works by emerging artists.
-Presented influential international artists through festivals including Gaudeamus Muziekweek NY, Touch.30, and Voices & Echoes.
-Garnered critical acclaim, including more than ten features in the New York Times.
-More than doubled our audience.
-Raised an additional $1.9 million for our capital campaign, bringing our total funds raised to $4,062,000.
-Selected WORKac as the architects for the renovation of our theater.
To support our continued presentation of renowned programs in 2013, please consider making a tax-deductible gift in support of ISSUE and the vital artists and programs we present. Your generosity will have a lasting impact on the future of New York's thriving culture.
