Formed in NYC in 1993, the improvising collective No-Neck Blues Band (NNCK) favors anonymity, autonomy, and obfuscation. Alongside founding member Keith Connolly (2016 AIR), they return to open ISSUE’s Fall season at First Unitarian Congregational Society in Brooklyn.

This piece is performed as a quartet with sound artist/engineer Riley, vocalist/saxophonist Carolyn Hietter, and improviser/composer Gabby Fluke-Mogul.

Violist Joanna Mattrey continues her 2021 ISSUE residency with the premiere of POV: Simulation, a digital sound walk created with physicist Dr. Graham Walker. Using the frequencies of Mattrey’s soundscape, Dr. Walker generates a visualization that reveals the vibrational patterns formed in real-time.
ISSUE presents a remote audio visual realization of a soundtrack for a dystopian zone from legendary artist, musician, record producer, model maker and cultural provocateur, Jimmy Cauty.
ISSUE presents a streamed program celebrating the occasion of revolutionary American composer Alvin Lucier’s 90th birthday. Spanning nearly 30 hours, the program features 90 artists staging their own performances of Lucier’s paradigmatic 1969 work I am sitting in a room.
