No-Neck Blues Band

First Unitarian Congregational Society

Formed in NYC in 1993, the improvising collective No-Neck Blues Band (NNCK) favors anonymity, autonomy, and obfuscation. Alongside founding member Keith Connolly (2016 AIR), they return to open ISSUE’s Fall season at First Unitarian Congregational Society in Brooklyn.

This installment of io brings together choreographer Kim Brandt (2015 AIR) and Isabella Thorpe-Woods (2026 SFCF). Centered around never-before-released footage from Clear Night (2016)—Brandt's eight-day AIR commission at Pioneer Works—the project revisits a performance that has remained largely unseen for nearly a decade.

ISSUE Project Room and Essential Kettle are pleased to present Cassavetes & Spaghetti, an event that brings together community, artisanal food and our favorite independent filmmaker, John Cassavetes.

Neil Burke was a founding member of the seminal spastic noise group Men's Recovery Project. Kites & Nautical Almanac both use homemade electronics to give gripping and engaging performances. Dan Friel plays in the NY group Parts and Labor and performs electronic noise-pop solo. Necking is new in the NY noise scene.
